Amazon requires radio frequency devices (RFDs) to provide proof of FCC compliance by March 7 or they will be taken off the shelves!

Publisher:     Time: 2022-03-15

Some time ago, many Amazon sellers have received an email from the official Amazon seller about the new FCC compliance requirements that must be met by Radio Frequency Devices (RFDs) sold on Amazon.com US, emphasizing that all RFDs must provide proof of FCC compliance and information before March 7, 2022 or they will be taken off the shelves!

Now that the time is approaching, it is recommended that the manufacturers concerned must pay attention so that their products are not taken off the shelves!

If a seller sells an RFD device on Amazon that is in the FCC Radio Frequency Transmission Compliance Attribute, the seller must perform one of the following actions:

1. provide evidence of FCC authorization, including an FCC certification number or contact information for the responsible party as defined by the FCC. 2. state that the product does not emit RF energy or is not required to be authorized as an FCC RFD device. 3. state that the product does not emit RF energy or is not required to be authorized as an FCC RFD device. Fill out the FCC Radio Frequency Emission Compliance Attributes for more information.

In fact, sellers are required to do do FCC certification in March 2021, and Amazon specifically has compliance requirements for products with radio frequency categories!

The difference is that that notice did not remove the ASIN prompt, whereas this one states that compliance needs to be done by March 7th. It can be said that this notice is the "upgraded version" of last year's notice.

什么是FCC?

FCC stands for Federal Communications Commission, which is an agency of the U.S. federal government responsible for managing the U.S. radio spectrum. The FCC prevents "radio and broadcast pollution" by enforcing standards of broadcast decency and by regulating sources of electromagnetic noise.

All electronic products entering the U.S. are subject to FCC certification (except for a very limited number of products specifically exempted from the relevant provisions), and the requirements of the FCC's regulations cover technical specifications such as transmitter requirements, wireless equipment, electromagnetic compatibility requirements, telephone termination equipment, test methods, and administrative requirements, as well as other market access conditions.

Products certified include radio, television, digital cameras, Bluetooth, wireless devices, and a variety of RF electronics.

Laboratory Recommendations

The Lab recommends relevant sellers to check whether their products have not been certified by FCC as required and to conduct FCC testing and certification as soon as possible, otherwise the products they sell, as mentioned in the official notice, will face the risk of deletion.

As a third-party service provider of Amazon, the laboratory can provide professional FCC testing and certification as well as other related testing and certification services required by Amazon, welcome to inquire!
