The IP protection rating test is a rating test for the dust and water resistance of products. With the letters IP (Ingress Protection into the protection) plus two digits to indicate the level of equipment safety protection. IP protection level system provides a way to classify products in terms of the degree of dustproof, waterproof and impact resistance of electrical equipment and packaging, and this system has been recognized by most European countries, and the International Electrotechnical Commission (International Electro Technical Commission) drafted, and in IED529 (BS EN 60529: 1992) the level of protection (IP code) of the outer packaging. This system is recognized by most European countries, drafted by the International Electro Technical Commission (IEC) and declared in the IP code of IED529 (BS EN 60529:1992).

The IP protection class is often expressed as IP followed by two digits, which are used to specify the level of protection.

The first digit indicates the extent to which the device is resistant to fine dust, or the degree to which people are protected from hazards in a sealed environment. It represents the level of protection against the ingress of solid foreign objects, with the highest level being 6;

The second digit indicates the extent to which the device is waterproof. Represents the level of protection against water ingress, the highest level being 8.

1: No protection

2 : Protected against large solids

3: Protected against medium-sized solids

4: Protected against small solids

5: Prevents entry of solids larger than 1mm.

6: Prevents accumulation of harmful dust

7: Completely prevents dust ingress

Waterproof grade (indicated by the second X)

1 : No protection

2 : No effect of water dripping into the housing

3 : No effect of water dripping into the housing when the housing is tilted to 15 degrees

4 : No effect of water or rain from a 60-degree angle to the case

5 : Liquid splashed onto the shell from any direction has no harmful effect

6 : Rinsing with water does not cause any harm

7 ：Can be used in the cabin environment

8 : Resistant to immersion in water for a short period of time (1m)

9 : Can be immersed in water for a long time under a certain pressure
