CTICK Certification Sequential Labeling

Radio communication equipment or special electrical and electronic equipment must comply with the requirements of the relevant labeling notice, otherwise it can not be sold or supplied to Australia, The C-Tick is a sequential labeling, it applies to the following labeling notice covered material items

1. Radiocommunications (Sequential Labeling with Emission) Notice 2001 outlining compliance with the EMC Adjusted Arrangement.

2. Radiocommunications (Sequential Labeling) Bulletin No. 1 1996 to show a brief description of radiocommunications in compliance with the adjusted arrangement.

3. Radiocommunications (Sequential Labeling - Electromagnetic Emissions) Notice 2003 outlines the compliance with the EMR Adjustment Arrangement, the EMC Adjustment Arrangement, under which a sequential label must be affixed to a product before it is supplied to Australia. It is also the sequential labeling of non-radiocommunication products that must comply with the Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) rules. For telecommunication products, EMR is covered by the A-Tick sequential label, and the sequential label on the C-Tick must have supplier information that identifies the supplier. This information may take the form of a supplier code issued by the ACA, an Australian company number or other form detailed in the relevant labeling bulletin available on the ACA website for more information on the use of the C-Tick mark.

Classification of CTICK certified products

In Australia EMC is monitored by the ACA (Australian Communications Authority). Under the Australian EMC system, products are categorized into three categories, and suppliers must register with the ACA to apply for the use of the C-TICK mark before selling Category 2 and 3 products.

Category 1 products: products with low interference radiation to equipment using the radio spectrum, such as manual switches, simple relays, one-way squirrel-cage inductive motors, resistors, and so on. These products can voluntarily apply for the use of the c-tick mark when they are manufactured and sold.

Class II products: products with high interference radiation to equipment using wireless spectrum, such as switching power supply, welding machine, dimmer, most of the household appliances, etc.

Class III products: products with very high interference radiation to devices using the wireless spectrum, i.e. products covered by CISPR11 & CISPR22. As applicants registered with ACA to apply for the use of the C-TICK Mark are limited to registered companies in Australia or New Zealand, applications can be made through buyers in Australia or New Zealand or through certification bodies with branches/partners in Australia or New Zealand.
