The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has implemented a new version of KDB 447498 D04 Interim General RF Exposure Guidance v07 since the second quarter, and the main changes are as follows:
The new version of KDB mainly updates the power threshold of SAR exemption test, which is more stringent than the old version, and the affected products mainly include Bluetooth, WIFI wearable/portable devices.

Older requirements

Requirements for the new version

As you can see from the comparison, for the 2450MHz/5800MHz bands where Bluetooth and WIFI devices are located, the 2450MHz threshold has been lowered from the original 10mW to 3mW, and the 5800MHz band has been lowered from the original 6mW to 1mW; any wearable/portable device with power exceeding this threshold will require additional SAR testing.
The new regulation will become mandatory after March 31, 2022!
