I. About CPC Certification
▬What is CPC Certificate?
CPC, i.e. Children's Product Certificate.
The certificate originates from the U.S. children's products mandatory regulations CPSIA (Children's Product Safety Improvement Act) requirements: children's product manufacturers (refers to the U.S. domestic manufacturers) and importers (U.S.) must be based on the results of the CPSC-accredited third-party laboratory testing, in the written Children's Product Certificate (CPC) to prove that its children's products comply with the applicable children's product safety regulations.
▬ What products require a CPC certificate?
Children's products (Consumer products designed for children 12 years of age or younger, or for which 12 years of age or younger is the primary user.)
▬ Who provides the CPC certificate?
U.S. manufacturer or U.S. importer, or written by another organization (e.g., testing agency).
▬ Who is responsible for the CPC certification?
For products imported into the U.S., the U.S. importer is legally responsible.
▬ The contents of the CPC certificate include:
▪ Product information: the product covered by the certificate should be described in as much detail as possible, making product identification unique;
■ CPSC safety regulations to which the product applies and passes the test: the test needs to be conducted by a CPSC-accredited third-party laboratory;
▪ The name, address, and contact information of the U.S. importer or U.S.-based manufacturer who certified the product's compliance;
▪ Contact information for the person who maintains the test report;
▪ The date and address where the product was manufactured;
■ The date and address where the product was tested;
■ Information on the CPSC-accredited third-party laboratory that conducted the test.
